ABOUT MEGGY MOOS
Tuesday 26th November 2019, a day that is going to haunt me forever. My baby girl was admitted into hospital where she would stay for a week. The day she was admitted into hospital with severe DKA - diabetic ketoacidosis and diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just 11 months old. She now has an insulin pump and a Dexcom CGM monitor so that we are able to keep track of her levels.
I as a parent worry that if anything should happen she is not able to talk to tell emergency services or anyone who would be helping that she is diabetic and that is where Meggy Moos was created.
Meggy Moos is all about awareness. I make keyrings for hidden disabilities and allergies for children (and adults) to hang on their keys, lunchboxes, bags, back packs etc to help spread the awareness of all kinds of hidden disabilities when children and adults are out on their own.
I also make personalised named keyrings. I thought of all the children that would be getting these keyrings for the hidden disabilities and they may have brothers and sisters that would feel a little left out not getting one.
Thank you for taking the time to read a small part of my story and thank you to everyone for helping me to spread awareness.
Just because people cant see it, doesnt mean it doesnt exist!
